Email & SMS Communications Terms & Conditions

1. Introduction

First Friday Friars (FFF) uses email and SMS text messaging to communicate important membership information, monthly meeting reminders, schedule updates, and membership renewal notices.

These Terms & Conditions describe how members may receive, manage, and opt out of electronic communications from First Friday Friars.

2. Email Communications

By providing an email address as part of your membership registration or renewal, you acknowledge that First Friday Friars may use that address for necessary membership-related communications, including:

Membership confirmations and renewal notices
Monthly meeting announcements and reminders
Meeting schedule changes or cancellations
Membership dues and payment notifications
Important organizational and administrative updates

Optional newsletters and other nonessential announcements may be sent in accordance with your communication preferences and applicable law.

Members may unsubscribe from optional email communications at any time by using the unsubscribe link included in applicable emails or by contacting First Friday Friars directly.

Certain essential administrative messages, such as payment receipts or membership account notices, may still be delivered as necessary.

3. SMS Text Messaging

First Friday Friars offers an optional SMS notification service to members who expressly consent to receive text messages.

SMS communications may include:

Monthly meeting reminders
Meeting schedule changes or cancellations
Membership renewal reminders
Important membership-related notifications

SMS participation is voluntary and is not required for membership.

4. SMS Consent

By selecting the optional SMS consent checkbox on a membership or renewal form, you authorize First Friday Friars to send recurring text messages to the mobile number provided.

Consent to receive SMS communications is not a condition of purchasing a membership or participating in First Friday Friars activities.

5. Message Frequency and Charges

Email: Email frequency varies according to meeting schedules, membership renewals, and organizational needs.

SMS: Text message frequency varies based on meeting schedules and membership renewal activities.

Message and data rates may apply to SMS communications depending on your mobile carrier and service plan.

First Friday Friars does not charge a separate fee for participating in its SMS notification program.

6. Opting Out and Managing Preferences

Email: Members may unsubscribe from optional email messages using the unsubscribe link provided in applicable emails or by contacting First Friday Friars.

SMS: Members may opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP to any SMS message from First Friday Friars. A confirmation message may be sent, after which no further messages will be sent unless the member opts in again.

For SMS assistance, reply HELP or contact First Friday Friars directly.

Opting out of SMS or optional email communications does not affect membership status.

7. Privacy and Personal Information

First Friday Friars respects the privacy of its members.

We do not sell, rent, or share members' email addresses, mobile phone numbers, or personal information with third parties or affiliates for their independent marketing or promotional purposes.

Mobile information and SMS opt-in consent data will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

Information may be provided to trusted service providers solely as necessary to administer membership records, process payments, or deliver authorized email and SMS communications, subject to appropriate data protection obligations.

8. Delivery and Availability

Email and SMS delivery may be affected by internet connectivity, spam filters, mobile carrier restrictions, device settings, or technical issues.

First Friday Friars cannot guarantee delivery or receipt of every communication.

Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered SMS messages.

9. Changes to These Terms

First Friday Friars may update these Terms & Conditions periodically to reflect changes in communication practices, technology, or applicable requirements.
