President's Message

MAY MESSAGE

Dear Esteemed Members of the First Friday Friars,

As we reflect on our recent gathering in April, our hearts are filled with gratitude for the extraordinary spiritual enrichment we experienced together. The meeting was marked by profound moments that deepened our faith and strengthened our community bonds.

We were blessed to have Father Rudy speak about The Maalgo Project. His presentation provided insightful views into the project's remarkable work, embodying our call to Christian compassion and global outreach. His dedication to serving those in need is an inspiring reflection of our faith in action.

Additionally, our April meeting was graced with an unexpected and divine blessing—the presence of first-class relics of St. Padre Pio, kindly facilitated by the National Centre of St. Padre Pio in Pennsylvania. The relics brought many blessings and graces to our assembly, serving as a tangible connection to St. Padre Pio’s powerful spiritual legacy. This profound experience reminded us of the continuous intercession of the saints in our lives.

As we continue our dedication to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, inspired by St. Margaret Mary Alacoque’s teachings on the Nine First Friday devotions, each gathering becomes a moment to renew our commitment to His divine love and mercy.

Looking forward to May, we are excited to celebrate our first ever "Family Day." I encourage you to bring your wives, adult children, and adult grandchildren to our next meeting, where we will have the privilege of hearing from Norbertine priest Fr. Sebastian Walshe. He will share insights from his book, "Understanding Marriage & Family: A Catholic Perspective," offering us a deeper understanding of these sacred institutions through the lens of our Catholic faith.

Please mark your calendars for this special first Friday in May - Friday May 3rd. It promises to be an enriching experience for our members and their families, deepening the bonds of our community through shared learning and fellowship.

Thank you for your continued devotion and participation. I am continually inspired by the strength and faith of our community and look forward to our continued journey in Christ.

May the Sacred Heart of Jesus bless you all,
